Online Practice of the new Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC)

From the Desk of Josh Wellikson
All CUSD students in grades 3-8 and 11 will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) online test this spring.  Like the former California Standards Tests, these tests are untimed. It is estimated that most students will complete them in three to four hours.  Most students will take a test in English-Language Arts and Mathematics, as well as a performance task, which requires students to read, answer questions and write a response.  Students will utilize a computer to complete the entire test.  Go to https://sbacpt.tds.airast.org/student/ to view a simulation of the test.  Click “Sign in” to get started then select the grade level.  Please note: this year’s testing is considered a field test.  No scores will be released to the district, schools, or parents as the state will only be “testing the test.”
